New Lines, more room, even more comfort, are all great features, but what’s real exciting for us are the elaborate changes to Turbocharger regarding size, type and positioning.
The New Twin Scroll VF54 turbo has been responsible for an extra 20+kw ATW over the MY09 GT and has given us (the ECUTEK / S&J Team) even more scope, regarding power and torque throughout the entire RPM range. See the dyno graph below for improvements at the XA kit Level only (no Hardware changes at all). Still featuring the "SI Drive”, ECUTEK Tuners have the power to give the driver genuine "map switching" with distinct power and torque differences between the “I”, “Sport” & “Sport Sharp” modes.
From factory Subaru have done a beautiful job of "sharpening" up the faster mode, but there is a very minimal kilowatt difference between the three modes at full throttle. A Full EcuTek type 4 retune costs $1590 including 4wd Dyno Tuning and nets over 15 kw in Sport mode with a 20 kw gain on Sport Sharp. As always fuel economy is a focus for us, and as a result we have seen as much as a 1.2L/100km improvement.
Once again Tip-tronic versions are no trouble at all. ECUTEK Race-Rom features like: Flat-Foot-Shift, Blip-on-Downshift, Dual Boost Maps and Launch Control are all a no cost option for this model Liberty too.
